Front Doors: What they say about you…

Monday, October 12th, 2009

First impressions mean everything; we’ve all heard it, but does this age old saying really apply to such things as front doors?    Well folks, the scores on the doors reveal the answer is Yes.

After weeks of ritual cleaning, de-cluttering and sprucing, your home is finally ‘on the market’.  It seems a little unfair that after all that effort, your prospective buyers’ opinion was already swayed before they took their shoes off.  Expensive, stylish décor will certainly muster up some lust, but what use is this if their heart was left at the Front Door?

Research shows that most home buyers take in only superficial impressions of a property, so it’s time to shift the focus and consider your front door and what it says about you.  Upgrading your “curb appeal” could help you sell your home more quickly, for the price you want and more importantly need.  However with so many Front Door choices, how do we know which one to buy?  Take the guesswork out of the equation by considering these four crucial elements: Safety, Durability, Design and Budget.

Remember, your Front Door can serve as a powerful design element and project an instant image of luxury to your potential buyer.  However what they say about your tea and homemade scones is probably best kept to themselves!

Front Doors and First Impressions

Most people are familiar with the expression ‘your eyes are the mirror to your soul’. Similarly it is an established fact that most people sum-up a stranger within 3 seconds of meeting them. First impressions, in today’s image obsessed world, are everything.

The same principals apply to your home – whether you are looking to sell and impress potential buyers or are simply looking to improve your home and how other people perceptive it, than a new front door can make all the difference to your home.
